Beaufort & the Outer Banks
Beaufort & the Outer Banks of NC
April 26-May 2, 2024
First a quiz...do you know the proper pronunciation and location of our destination? If not it is time to learn and as a bonus you can also visit its “twin” a few weeks earlier. This escape will focus on the North Carolina coastal jewel of Beaufort, the gateway to our own Outer Banks.
The first day of our relaxing adventure will start with pickup at your door, breakfast at Globe Treks then a long but relaxing drive to the coast. We will stop every 2 hours, enjoy a great lunch in Raleigh and of course our famous rolling happy hour!
Day 2 will feature a private tour of Beaufort. NC’s third oldest town, Beaufort lies on the coast bordering the southern tip of the Outer Banks and has a fascinating history of patriots, privateers, and colorful adventurers. We will end the day with a narrated wild horse, nature and history cruise on the calm waters Taylor’s Creek and the Rachel Carson Reserve.
Day 3 will have us on the water again as we enjoy a 2 hour cruise to Ocracoke Island where we will explore this quarter mile wide barrier island featuring a unique lighthouse, British cemetery and quaint shops.
Day 4 will take us to Harkers Island where we will meet residents of this working fishing community and also tour the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum and take the ferry to the Cape Lookout Lighthouse.
Our final day will feature Finally, home to your front door via the Globe Treks private car service!
