Blue Ridge Scenic Railway

Blue Ridge Scenic Railway

August 3, 2023 (Thursday)

Between the 1800’s and early 1900’s, railroads played a significant role in the development of the north Georgia and Tennessee mountains area. They determined the routes of local roads, saved ailing mining industries, contributed to the growth of small towns as resort communities, and made it possible to log their last remaining virgin timbers.

Join us for a special day on the heritage Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad. The train departs from the historic depot in downtown Blue Ridge, GA. The 26-mile roundtrip adventure follows the beautiful Toccoa River, arriving in the quaint sister towns of McCaysville, GA and Copperhill, TN. Enjoy a 2-hr layover where you can have lunch; stroll or shop unique craft and antique stores; snack on ice cream; or just meander across the old bridge for a delightful view of the river.
