Begin our exploration of the Great Lakes with a two night stay in Wisconsin’s Door County, a charming 75-mile peninsula sandwiched between Lake Michigan and Green Bay often called ‘The Cape Cod of the Great Lakes. Here, laid-back coastal charm and historic small towns dot peaceful shores. Then it’s on to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore with     a cruise on Lake Superior to see the delicate sandstone formations, shipwrecks and even a natural arch. Then its on Pure Michigan, Four of  the five Great lakes touch this state which remains 50% forested. Michigan sports more beaches than the Atlantic seaboard. We will visit
Sault Ste Marie in the Upper Peninsula with a boat trip through the Soo locks before taking a ferry to Mackinac Island. Mackinac was rated by Travel and Leisure as the best island in the US! Unpack here for three nights at the stately and legendary Grand Hotel. The culinary delights prepared by the team of chefs will be memorable. Travel by horse drawn carriage on this carless island. Then it’s on to the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, as we see incredible sights along the way.

 

Ride from Hendersonville on May 30 returning June 9 th or Fly into Milwaukee on May 31 and out of Detroit on June 8. Whichever way you choose, the price is the same.
