Good Old-Fashioned Fun

Great food and great music. The perfect combination for a Globe Treks day tour to see the legendary Oak Ridge Boys. On March 31, we had a relaxing lunch in Spartanburg and then continued on to the Newberry Opera House in Newberry, South Carolina. The Oak Ridge Boys - Richard Steban, Duane Allen, William Lee Golden, and Joe Bonsall - have earned prestigious membership in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Grand Ole Opry, and are known worldwide as one of recording history's most extraordinary musical successes. The Newberry Opera House is a delightful venue. The fully restored historic building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Our great group of guests included Al and Sunny Lockwood, who shared their experience:

"What a great way to wave goodbye to March and welcome the first weekend in April. An easy ride to La Taverna in Spartanburg for a delicious Italian meal and fun conversation with travel companions. And then, off to the historic Opera House in Newberry for an afternoon with The Oak Ridge Boys. What a concert! Talk about energy, enthusiasm and toe-tappin' music... Fun! Fun! Fun!
