Yosemite and the California Coast

It has been called "the jaw-dropping head-turner of America's national parks." Our Globe Treks tour to Yosemite National Park and the California Coast departed on February 24th for an unforgettable adventure. Yosemite is a wonderful place to visit anytime of year, but late winter means less visitors for a more tranquil experience and a chance to see Yosemite's beauty from a different angle.

Our tour included one night in San Francisco, two nights in Yosemite National Park, one night in Sequoia National Park, one night in San Simeon and two nights in Monterey.

Globe Treks owner, Greg Sutter, led the tour with the help of David Bryan. David shared his photos and memories of this awesome tour:

"Sixteen Globe Treks guests set out with Greg and me on a late winter-wonderland visit to Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks. We followed this with a jaunt up the central California coast whose wondrous beauty did not fail to enchant."

"We were treated to snow-covered Sierra Nevada Peaks in Yosemite. We walked through six inches of snow powder while we gazed up at the giant Sequoias that are thousands of years old."

"Along the California coast we were met with crashing coastline breakers, the magnificence of the Hearst Castle, awesome oceanside canyons, elephant seal rookeries and countless postcard views. In between, places like Monterey and San Francisco wined and dined us in exotic settings."

"Five Globe Treks guests stayed on an extra three days with me in San Francisco and were treated to a cable car and walking city tour guided by a wonderful and charming Chinese-American guide. "Fisher" took us to places like San Francisco's financial district and Chinatown. In addition to the city tour, our three days included a boat trip to Alcatraz Island, a ride around Golden Gate State Park, Fisherman's Wharf and a visit to Telegraph Hill and Coit Tower. And of course, there was the seafood and sourdough for which the city is famous. What lifetime memories we made!"
