  ​Imagine nine delightful days in Portugal including three on the island of Madeira. Our tour begins with two nights in cosmopolitan Lisbon where we will explore the ancient narrow streets, visit the colorful and fantastical Pena Palace in Sintra (a UNESCO World Heritage site) and enjoy a soulful musical evening listening to a Fado performance. Next, we will spend two nights in Braga, one of the oldest towns in Portugal. Braga is the country's spiritual heart and "Rome of Portugal", known for its numerous religious sites, particularly the Bom Jesus do Monte sanctuary. A short ride will take us to the famed Douro wine district headed by Porto and featuring mountainside vineyards that will welcome us for touring and tasting. We will end our Portugal adventure with a short flight to the island paradise of Madeira where we will spend three nights exploring the stunning coasts, mountains and gardens of this autonomous province that is closer to Africa than Europe. For the adventurous souls you will have the chance to slide down the hills of Monte for a grand finale!
