Our New Orleans and Memphis tour in late March combined two great destinations for an adventure filled with great music, great food and fascinating history. Our guests enjoyed the hospitality and elegance of the famed Peabody Hotel in Memphis and the excitement and energy of the New Orleans Marriott in the heart of the French Quarter. Highlights of the tour included a musical driving tour of Memphis, called the " Backbeat Tour," with a guitar-playing and singing tour guide who entertained our guests on board the motor coach. Visits to Elvis Presley's Graceland and Sun Studio rounded out a marvelous time in Memphis. In New Orleans, our guests enjoyed a behind-the-scenes look at Mardi Gras at Blaine Kern's Mardi Gras World and an unforgettable visit to the National World War II Museum. Cajun food, barbecue and seafood kept our guests nourished and satisfied between fun-filled attractions.

"Music, Music, Music! Globe Treks guests traveled through Appalachia, Nashville, Memphis and New Orleans for an exposure to the history of Southern-born music. The historic Peabody Hotel served as our Memphis base as we were serenaded by Elvis and feasted on Memphis-style barbecue. In Old New Orleans, the Marriott housed us next to the French Quarter. We toured the city and we feasted on fresh seafood. Then there were the World War II and Mardi Gras museums and the Aquarium of the Americas. And, of course, there was plenty of opportunity to explore New Orleans on foot.

The trip home concluded with the beautiful charm of Laurel, Mississippi, more seafood in Birmingham, Alabama, and the elegant charm of Chateau Elan in Braselton, Georgia."
