It is time to escape to somewhere safe, interesting and off the beaten path! After pickup at your home we will head south by southwest via scenic Highway 11. Our first stop will be Warm Springs, GA and FDR’s “Little White House”. After our guided tour it’s on to the Chattahoochee Valley and 3 nights at the Marriott in Columbus, GA.

 

Day 2 will feature guided tours of Columbus, the jewel of the Chattahoochee River Valley, the Army’s Fort Benning, home of the infantry as well as the Airborne and Ranger schools. You will have options to explore the Columbus Science Center, Botanical Garden and even a lunchbox museum too!

 

Day 3 will start with a guided tour of the infamous Andersonville Civil War Prison, now a  National Historic Site. This is also the site of the incredible National Prisoner of War Museum. We will lunch at the historic Windsor Hotel in Americus; perhaps we will spot President Carter in nearby Plains as well as learn a bit about Habitat for Humanity. We will end our day with   another first time Globe Treks visit to Georgia’s spectacular “Little Grand Canyon”, pictured below.

 

Our final day will include a guided tour and lunch at Callaway Gardens where we hope to see the spring azaleas and other blossoms before heading home and taking you to your front door via the Globe Treks private car service!
