Globe Treks COVID & Illness Policy 2023-2024

During your trip

Face masks & hand sanitizer: The use of face masks is not required, unless dictated by local regulations. N95 face masks (or the equivalent in the country) and hand sanitizer will be available to all travelers throughout the adventure, however travelers can bring their own from home, if preferred.

At any point if you are presenting any flu-like symptoms, your Tour Director may ask you to wear a N-95 mask covering the mouth and nose, and take a COVID test, and it is expected that you comply.  See below for Testing Positive while on your trip.

Local transportation & coaches: For 2023 only, all coach drivers will be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The use of face masks is not required aboard local transportation or coaches, unless dictated by local regulations. All coaches will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized with disinfectant before each use.

Meals: Whenever possible, meals will be individually plated and served. During buffet meals, the dining staff will follow best health and hygiene practices to ensure food safety and prevent the spread of illness.

Tour Managers: All Tour Managers will be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Health screenings of Tour Managers, including a COVID-19 test, will be completed before joining the adventure. Tour Managers will be trained on health and safety protocols to follow during your trip.

Testing positive while on your trip

Though we will all do our best to mitigate this, if you do test positive while on the trip, you have the choice to return home as planned (you will take an individual private transfer to the airport), or you can continue to quarantine in the last destination of your trip at your own expense, working with Globe Treks to rebook your return flight home.

If you have purchased our Travel Protection Plan, benefits are provided for Covid-related costs according to the terms of the Plan. If you have not elected to purchase our coverage, we recommend purchasing alternate travel protection which includes Covid coverage. If you do not have this coverage, you will be responsible for all Covid-related costs, which may include hotel stays, medical needs, transportation, and more.

We will do all we can to ensure our travelers’ safety and health while on our adventures, but we need your help. We expect travelers to follow best health and hygiene practices to prevent the spread of illness as well—from washing your hands regularly, covering your mouth when coughing or sneezing, and following social distancing guidelines. By working together, we can create a safer travel experience for everyone.
